Governor Murphy and her staff believe that we have finally reached a point in society where women are equal to men. She will strive to make sure that this remains true. She will work to completely eliminate the subtle differences between genders, encouraging females to get involved in STEM careers and evening out the pay scale.
The Murphy administration believes in a woman’s right to an abortion. A woman’s right to privacy is essential and, as president, Governor Murphy would be willing to go distant measures to preserve this right. She will pick up where former President Obama left off and continue to stand behind a woman’s right to choose. She will fight against Republican attacks on Planned Parenthood, making sure they always have enough funding, and keep the global gag rule (bans the government funding international groups that provide abortion information) from being reinstated. Along with that, not only would she uphold measures in the Affordable Care Act that require most insurance companies to fully cover the cost of birth control, but push for all health insurance companies to do so.
The Murphy administration will work harder than any other past politician to ensure that Americans living with disabilities are not discriminated against. She will follow former President Obama and continue to pass legislation that works to eliminate the barriers and differences between Americans with and without disabilities. As governor, she was a strong advocator for all legislation helping disabled Americans, especially the Christopher and Dana Reeve Paralysis Act, improved the lives of Americans living with paralysis. She hopes to update and improve the Affordable Care Act to ensure that all Americans get the care that they need to treat any disabilities that they may have.

Jobs, Ahoy!

The Governor is planning on taking aggressive steps to put Americans back to work and create an economy where hard work pays and responsibility is rewarded when she is elected president. Governor Murphy will make sure the middle-class is secured first and foremost. She will continue the foundation for a U.S. economy that President Obama built, and she will make it secure enough to last. Governor Murphy supports the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, which cut taxes for small businesses and 95 percent of working families. Governor Murphy wants to create a "clean economy", making more jobs have greener alternatives. This will be better for our planet and the economy. Using high-technology U.S. manufacturing capacity, and supply clean energy projects with American-made parts and equipment are ideas that the Governor has under her wing. With Governor Murphy as President, green technologies such as wind turbines and advanced car batteries will be a part of every American's life, making it better, cleaner, and easier.
Education
Knowledge Is Power

As a former educator herself, the issue of Education Reform is nearest to Governor Murphy's heart. She began her political career in the hopes of changing the way education was structured in the United States. As the Governor of Massachusetts, Larissa helped to improve the education process by increasing the state budget for public education and increasing pay for public teachers, so that more college graduates would have a greater incentive for entering a career in teaching in their particular field.
As President, Governor Murphy would continue do the same she has done as Governor on the national level. She, as many other Americans, recognize that reforming our school systems is a direct investment in our future. She would increase the national budget for education to allow each state to improve its education system. Governor Murphy would continue the efforts of President Obama's "Race to the Top" programs to help reform education. She would also strive to make a college education available to anyone, no matter of costs. In today's highly competitive job market, many people find that some sort of degree beyond high school is necessary, be that community college, public universities, or good technical training.
From the Democratic Party website, "Democrats recognize education as the most pressing economic issue in America’s future, and we cannot allow our country to fall behind in a global economy. We must prepare the next generation for success in college and the workforce, ensuring that American children once again become global leaders in creativity and achievement."
